CITIZENS' SPACE
POLICY INITIATIVE
We've collected early responses from diverse citizens across the globe, synthesising those responses using purpose-built AI tools to create consensus-driven vision and policy.
While this early trial is now closed for responses, our major campaign launches at the end of the year. Stay tuned by subscribing to our newsletter:

In the meantime, you can see some of the early results below:
We asked the database:
"What are the top 3 policy priorities for our participants?"

* Citizen Response
"Governments should be treating space as a political issue worthy of serious political consideration and lobbying larger space powers to establish new formal treaties governing the treatment of outer space and outer space resources."
1. International Cooperation and Governance in Space
Many respondents emphasised the need for international collaboration, common norms, and clear governance structures to prevent abuse, monopolisation, and conflict in space. This includes establishing treaties, frameworks, and universally agreed-upon rules for behaviour, resource exploitation, and conflict prevention.

2. Equity, Inclusion, and Prevention of Monopolisation/Exploitation
There is strong concern about preventing space from becoming dominated by a few wealthy actors or nations, and ensuring that benefits are shared equitably. Respondents call for anti-monopoly measures, inclusive participation, protection against exploitation, and prioritising the well-being of all humanity over profit or national interest.

* Citizen Response
"By prioritizing collaboration over competition and valuing the well-being of all rather than the enrichment of a few, we can ensure that the benefits of space (whether in terms of technology, resources, or knowledge) are accessible to every person on the planet. Only through a collective effort marked by mutual respect and a commitment to equitable progress can we hope to make space a frontier that uplifts humanity as a whole."

* Citizen Response
"We are living in a time where we are already reaching into our solar system, and we have not even come close to living sustainably on our own planet. Regulations should focus on mitigating and preventing the damage we will do by exploiting the solar system, and on recognising and preserving diversity whenever we encounter it."
3. Sustainability and Environmental Protection (Space and Earth)
Respondents highlight the importance of sustainability, both in terms of avoiding space debris and pollution (space junk), and ensuring that space activities support environmental protection on Earth. There is a call to avoid repeating the mistakes of terrestrial exploitation, to focus on climate mitigation, and to ensure that space activities do not harm planetary environments or the night sky.
